Growing up, my mother and grandmother spent hours in the kitchen preparing haircare essentials for me and my sister. They would boil, soak, mash, and sieve whole raw herbs to create fresh, natural treatments. This was never about shortcuts or commercial products; it was a ritual, a labor of love passed down through generations.
For over 30 years, this was how I cared for my hair. I never shampooed with commercial products. Instead, I trusted these raw herbs to nourish my scalp, strengthen my roots, and keep my hair healthy and vibrant. I could see and feel the difference every day.
As I’ve shared before, “I’m the girl with waist-long hair who hasn’t shampooed for her entire life... but hey, I’m just a herb-girl living in her plant world.” This lifestyle wasn’t a trend or rebellion; it’s my truth and my foundation.
This experience taught me something powerful: hair is like a plant—it flourishes when nurtured gently and patiently with pure, natural ingredients. “Your hair needs love, patience, and nature’s rhythm; quick fixes only mask the real magic,” I often say.
When I founded Sacred Grove, I wanted to share this heritage and wisdom with others who might be seeking a more natural, mindful way to care for their hair. Our brand honors the traditional ‘soak-boil-mash-sieve’ process, capturing the full potency of whole raw herbs rather than relying on extracts or synthetics.
