Reetha and Shikakai powders get stuck in the hair during wash, and just the herb decoction can be drying for some hair types. This is why our base has flaxseeds in it as well to provide the right amount of hydration for the scalp and hair

Yes, this cleanser should and can be used in place of your current shampoo. Shampoos contain harsh surfactants (SLS) while this shampoo contains saponins(naturally occurring surfactants in reetha & shikakai)
